GERONIMO, TX, August 14, 2025 – The Geronimo community turned out in force to celebrate the first-ever Meet the Panthers event, held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Erwin Lee Field. Despite sweltering temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, the inaugural event was a resounding success, igniting Panther pride and demonstrating an overwhelming show of support for Navarro ISD's student-athletes and performers.

The evening was a dynamic showcase of Panther talent, featuring performances from the Panther Band, Cheer Squad who introduced fans to a new cheer, and Dazzlers, as well as the introduction of the Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Tennis teams. Fans had the opportunity to meet and cheer on each organization, and Coach Hill introduced the new coaching staff, sharing inspiring words about the seasons ahead and thanked fans and parents for their dedication. 

The highlight of the night came as a complete surprise to Coach Hill and Superintendent Dr. Epley. Dennis Cisneros, President of the Navarro Athletic Booster Club, made a special presentation, unveiling a check for a staggering $74,500. These funds, raised through the generosity of countless community donors and Panther supporters that visit the fan shop, concession stands and attend benefit fundraising events, will directly benefit every sports program and athlete at Navarro ISD.

"This speaks to our community's incredible generosity and love for our athletes and programs," said Dennis Cisneros. "Thanks to their support, these funds will go a long way in providing resources that will benefit every single sports program and athlete at Navarro. We're so grateful for the Panther family and our booster club volunteers." 

The event also featured the Navarro Athletic Booster Club welcoming new members and a snow cone truck, which donated 50% of its proceeds to the Booster Club, and door prize drawings for youth and adult attendees. The event successfully kicked off the fall season with an electrifying display of community spirit, setting a high bar for future celebrations.
