Very Important Panther Substitutes
Substitute teachers are a very important part of the Navarro ISD team. They provide safety and continuity of learning for students, while affording teachers peace of mind knowing that their classes are in good hands.
NISD accepts substitute teacher and substitute teacher aide applications year-round. Email hr@nisd.us for more information.
Substitute rate of pay:
- Teachers - $100 daily
- Aides - $ 85 daily
- Clerical - $11 per hour
This district does NOT deduct Social Security or Teacher Retirement from substitute wages.
Substitutes pay into a FICA (Social Security) Alternative plan Managed by Mid America Solutions.
- TRS retirees receiving monthly TRS annuity payments are exempt from the FICA Alternative withholding.
- TRS retirees are limited with respect to the amount of days and types of assignments they can accept.
