GERONIMO, TX – November 19, 2025 – Following the landmark approval of the 2025-2026 Compensation Plan in June 2025, Navarro ISD proudly announced to this year’s Compensation Task Force committee that the new salary structure positions the district as the regional leader in compensation for experienced teachers, underscoring its commitment to retaining top talent.

A recent comparative analysis of six neighboring districts confirms that Navarro ISD now offers the highest salaries in the area for teachers at the 5, 10, and 15-year career milestones.

"This data is a powerful validation of the strategic, historic investment the legislature and our School Board have made in our staff," said Dr. David Kauffman, Navarro ISD Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and School Leadership. "When we said that recruiting and retaining high-quality educators was our top priority, we meant it. Our veteran teachers are the backbone of our 'Panther Family,' and ensuring their compensation is the highest in the area recognizes their powerful impact on student success."

The newly approved compensation plan ensures Navarro ISD teachers are the best-paid in the comparison group at critical career points, demonstrating the district’s dedication to long-term professional stability and growth. While the district’s starting salary for certified teachers is highly competitive at $55,300 (ranking third in the comparison group), the substantial pay raises approved for returning staff—including an impressive $8,400 increase for teachers with five or more years of experience—were specifically designed to reward commitment to the profession and expertise.

The $2.45 million compensation investment reflects the district’s belief that the most effective resource for students is a consistent, highly-skilled educator. By leading the region in compensation for experienced teachers, Navarro ISD is positioning itself to be the destination district for professionals looking for a supportive environment where they can grow and thrive.

Navarro ISD is actively hiring for various positions across all campuses. With continued student enrollment growth and expanding campuses and programs Navarro ISD is looking for dedicated individuals to join the Panther Family for this year and next. Prospective employees are encouraged to explore the opportunities to join a district that is making a generational investment in its team.
