Theatre
The Navarro High School Theatre Troupe 5766 achieved outstanding success at the recent Texas Thespians Festival in Corpus Christi, bringing significant recognition to Navarro ISD. We are proud to announce that several students secured National Qualifier status, the highest level of achievement in their respective events. These top-scoring performances were earned by:
Senior Joshua Brucks in Contrasting Monologues, and was also named a finalist for the highly competitive Texas Thespians Scholarship, distinguishing himself from a field of over 400 applicants statewide, Junior Zoe Alexius for her Short Film, Sophomore Claire Martinez in Solo Musical, and Sophomore Sarah Mullan, who was chosen from over 4,000 students to perform her Monologues for Fine Arts Administrator Day to showcase the dedication and hard work of Texas Thespians.
The entire company of 12 students represented Navarro High School with exceptional professionalism and Panther pride throughout the festival. Under the direction of Theatre Director Mrs. Carter Ridge, these students demonstrated their commitment to the Navarro HS Theatre Department's mantra of Attitude, Dedication, and Ability. Their achievements in teaching life skills through the magic of theatre and their success at the festival are a proud moment for our Panther Family, showcasing the bright future of Navarro Fine Arts.
Football
We also celebrate the remarkable resilience and determination of the Varsity Football team. This year, our athletes were faced with a significant challenge: adapting to an entirely new system across offense, defense, and special teams. This kind of program overhaul often requires a multi-year learning curve, but this team met the challenge head-on, working diligently to absorb new schemes and a new way of operating in a short amount of time, which allowed us to be consistently competitive throughout the season. Their commitment to growth, combined with their dedication to excellence off the field—maintaining zero ineligible players for the entire season and earning 33 Academic All-District honors—is a true testament to the high standard they have set for Panther Football moving forward. We are incredibly proud of their character, their fight, and the culture shift they initiated.
The Varsity Panthers Football team earned several post-season academic and individual honors include:
First Team All District - Mason Harvey, Eli Melton, Isidro Rocha, Dylan Trotti, Brody Zoeller
Second Team All District - Mason Berry, Grayson Carlisle, Emerson Elder, Braddock Gallini, Tyler Riske, Evan Rodriguez, Luke Vogel
Honorable Mention All District - Eli Baker, Austin Davidson, Julius DeLeon, Colin Geipel
District Offensive Line MVP - Chris Ledezma
Additionally, during the season a special recognition was announced congratulating Braddock Gallini on being selected to play in the San Antonio Sports All Star Game at the Alamodome in January! We know you will represent our school well!
We express our appreciation to our coaching staff, trainers, parents and fans for their leadership and commitment to our football program. Thank you to our coaches for not only guiding us to success on the field but also for instilling valuable life lessons, upholding Navarro traditions, building our Panther legacy, and helping our students grow on and off the field.
