Temporary occupancy granted for NISD select baseball and softball games starting Tuesday, April 7.

GERONIMO, TX – April 2, 2026 –  Navarro ISD announces a special preview of its new high school baseball and softball facilities. On Tuesday, April 7, Panther athletes will make history as they step onto the new turf for the first time for varsity and sub-varsity competition.

This unique "sneak peek" for Panther fans is made possible through a temporary occupancy agreement, allowing our student-athletes the opportunity to experience their new home before the end of the 2026 season.

While we are excited to open the gates, it is important for fans to note that the athletics complex remains an active construction site. Following these select games, the facilities will be turned back over to the construction contractor for final completion. Because the project is still in construction progress, fans should expect an essentials-focused game day experience:

• Amenities such as permanent restrooms, concession stands, stadium speakers, flagpoles and other facility features will not yet be installed or operational.
• Temporary restroom facilities (portable toilets) will be provided in lieu of finished restrooms.
• We ask for the community's grace and patience as we navigate these logistical hurdles to give our student athletes, especially our senior players, a chance to play on the new fields, making history as the first teams to play there.

To ensure the safety of all guests and the integrity of the ongoing construction:

• In accordance with district guidelines, all children must be strictly supervised at all times. Any patrons roaming the complex or entering fenced-off construction zones is strictly prohibited.
• Patrons are asked to park in the student parking lot and enter the complex near the batting cages.
• Any trash generated by players or guests must be removed from the site following the game.
• All patrons must leave the site following the conclusion of the game.
• All district stadium rules and policies will apply.

The decision to play specific end-of-season games at the new complex versus the existing Erwin-Lee Complex was made collectively by the players and coaching staff. As a result, not all remaining home games will necessarily be moved to the new site. Fans are encouraged to check official district schedules for final game locations as games are subject to change. 

Grand Opening Coming Fall 2026

This April preview is just the beginning. Navarro ISD looks forward to hosting a community dedication and grand opening ceremony in the Fall of 2026, once all athletic amenities, landscaping, and final touches are complete.
