Navarro ISD Recognized as a Semi-Finalist for 2026 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards

GERONIMO, TX — April 16, 2026 — Navarro ISD is proud to announce its selection as a semi-finalist in the District category for the 2026 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards. Out of more than 2,000 applications submitted by educators and districts across Texas, Navarro ISD was chosen as one of only 25 districts to advance to the regional judging process.
As part of this recognition, Navarro ISD received a $500 H-E-B gift card and the judges and readers specifically noted they were impressed by the district’s written testimony and extensive professional accomplishments.
Navarro ISD’s recognition as a state semi-finalist was rooted in an application that provided evidence of the district’s "Collaborative Vision." The submission detailed how the district’s mission, vision, and educational philosophy are put into practice through a relationship-centered approach known as the "Navarro Promise." Furthermore, the application highlighted the district’s rigorous leadership development programs and the implementation of high-quality curriculum and instruction, which serve as the foundation for its student success structures.
By showcasing specific innovations from the past three years, demonstrating responsible financial oversight in the face of rapid growth, and documenting meaningful stakeholder engagement, the district proved its commitment to creating a transparent and continuously improving learning community for all Panther students.
"The work we do to create a continuously improving learning community that embraces partnerships is exceptional and is being recognized at a state level," said Superintendent Dr. Mandy Epley. "We extend a sincere thank you to our school board, amazing teachers, staff, administrators, and families who make this progress possible."
Navarro ISD would also like to thank H-E-B for its continued support of Texas public education and for providing this opportunity to showcase the achievements within the Heart of Geronimo.
