Navarro High School Names Kathryn Jade Dahlke as Class of 2026 Salutatorian

GERONIMO, TX – May 5, 2026 – Navarro HIgh School is proud to announce that Kathryn Jade Dahlke has been named the Salutatorian of the Class of 2026. Born in China, Kathryn later moved to Pflugerville with her family before eventually settling in Seguin. She became a Navarro Panther in second grade and has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to academic rigor, campus leadership, and community service throughout her high school career.
Kathryn graduates with a remarkable GPA of 101.086. Her academic journey is marked by a diverse range of Academic Excellence awards in subjects ranging from Honors Geometry and U.S. History to Floral Design. Her intellectual achievements have been recognized on a national scale through the College Board National Recognition Program, where she received both the Rural and Small Town Recognition Award and the School Recognition Award.
“To me and my family, this achievement is a reflection of years of hard work and dedication,” said Dahlke. “It represents the support they’ve given me and the drive I’ve had to make the most of every opportunity.”
As a service-oriented leader, Dahlke has been a powerhouse in school spirit and leadership. As the Head Captain of the Varsity Sideline and UIL Spirit Team, she led her squad with a focus on unity and excellence, earning the prestigious Texas Girls Coaches Association 4A All-State Cheer honors—a distinction given to only 50 athletes in her division across the state. She is also a four-time UCA All-American Cheerleader and recipient of the UCA Pin It Forward Leadership Award.
Beyond the sidelines, Dahlke served as the President of the Interact Club, Treasurer of the Student Council, and was an active member of the National Honor Society. Her commitment to others is evidenced by her volunteer work with Blue Santa, Adopt a Highway, and the Exceptional Athlete Track & Field Day.
Kathryn also stands out as a future-ready professional. She is on track to earn both her Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA, Health Science) and Level I Floral Certification (Plant Science) prior to graduation, successfully balancing technical skill with academic rigor. This fall, she will move on to The University of Texas at Austin to major in Health and Society, with the ultimate goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist.
Reflecting on her time at Navarro, Dahlke recalls the importance of connection, highlighting the energy and bonds through "Friday Night Lights" as her most cherished memory. “Cheering alongside my best friends, who became a second family, made those moments unforgettable,” she shared.
To the underclassmen following in her footsteps, the Salutatorian offers a message of perseverance: “Always give 100% and do your best. You may get a bad grade at times or feel like what you are doing isn't enough, but that is okay. You are still learning and growing; there are always more opportunities to do better if you give yourself the chance.”
Kathryn is the daughter of Robert and Amy Dahlke of Seguin. Navarro ISD congratulates her on this prestigious achievement and looks forward to seeing her continue to represent the Panther Family at the university level.
