Navarro High School Celebrates Class of 2026 "Decision Day" as Seniors Commit to Future Paths

GERONIMO, TX – May 7, 2026 – Navarro High School transformed its Performing Arts Center into a hub of celebration as the Class of 2026 gathered for its annual Decision Day held on May 4. The event serves as a formal recognition of the diverse and ambitious paths seniors have chosen to pursue following graduation, ranging from prestigious four-year universities and technical trades to military service and global missions.
The atmosphere was electric as students were called to the stage in groups categorized by their post-secondary choices. The ceremony highlighted the breadth of talent within the senior class, featuring commitments to institutions such as Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and UT Austin, as well as specialized paths like the Sky Rider Aviation Flight School and various Cosmetology and Barber Academies.
This year’s celebration carried extra significance with the introduction of a new district-wide initiative. Caroline Bauer, the first-ever College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Advisor for Navarro ISD, reflected on the milestone year.
"Stepping into this new role for Navarro ISD this year has been an incredible journey," said Bauer. "My goal was to ensure that every student felt empowered to navigate the complexities of testing, applications, enlistments, and certifications. Seeing these seniors stand on that stage today—knowing they have a plan, vision, and the confidence to execute it—is exactly why this position was created. We are launching these proud Panthers into their next chapter with the skills and tools for success."
The event emphasized that "success" at Navarro High School is not one-size-fits-all. The school took care to honor students entering the workforce directly, those embarking on mission trips to places as far as Ghana and Brazil, and a large contingent of brave men and women enlisting in the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
Principal Scarborough addressed the assembly with a message rooted in the district’s core mission. "Today is an exciting and meaningful milestone as we recognize the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of the Class of 2026," said Principal Scarborough. "We say it every single day: our goal is to educate, elevate, graduate, and prepare every student for life after high school. Whether you are headed to a university, a technical program, or the front lines of service, you have shown the growth and commitment necessary to lead. We are incredibly proud of the bright futures you are creating for yourselves."
