Navarro ISD Announces Board of Trustees Election and Candidate Orientation

GERONIMO, TX — June 30, 2026 — The Navarro Independent School District has announced that it will hold a school board election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The purpose of the election is to fill four (4) At-Large positions on the Board of Trustees. Each elected trustee will serve a four-year term running from November 2026 through November 2030.
Board members with terms expiring in November include Donna Gilliam, Dan Reinhard, Dr. Lacey Gosch, and Joel Frederick.
Filing Information for Candidates
The filing period for a place on the ballot opens on July 20, 2026, and closes promptly at 4:30 p.m. on August 17, 2026. Applications cannot be accepted prior to the July 20 start date.
Eligible residents interested in running for a seat can submit their applications in person, by mail, email, or fax. Filing hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during regular Navarro ISD work days. Please note that Navarro ISD offices are closed on Fridays during the month of July.

Candidate Orientation Meeting
To help potential candidates understand the roles, duties, and responsibilities of serving on the school board, Navarro ISD will host a Candidate Orientation. For individuals who are ultimately elected, this course will count toward their state-mandated education hours for newly elected board members.

- Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Location: Junior High Library (the former high school located at 6350 N. State Hwy 123)
