GERONIMO, TX — July 27, 2026 — Following up on the winter groundbreaking of Navarro South Elementary School, Navarro ISD is officially inviting parents, staff, and community members to apply for the 2026–27 Elementary Attendance Boundaries Committee.

This community-led committee will partner with district leadership, demographers, architects, and construction managers to develop attendance boundary recommendations for the district’s elementary campuses serving grades 2–5. The recommendations, presented to the Navarro School Board, will prepare the district for the August 2027 opening of Navarro South Elementary on East Martindale Road, as well as the transition of Navarro Intermediate into Navarro Elementary, also serving grades 2–5.

The opening of a second elementary campus marks an exciting new chapter for the Panther Family. "Breaking ground on Navarro South Elementary was a memorable milestone for our growing district, and the next step in shaping our future and serving our students happens when our community comes together," said Superintendent Dr. Mandy Epley. "The opening of our second elementary campus (grades 2-5) and the transition of Navarro Intermediate to Navarro Elementary (grades 2–5) represent a momentous leap forward for our district. We are grateful about what this expansion means for our students, and this committee ensures our Panther Family has a direct voice in creating balanced, equitable, and strong foundations for all of our young learners."

The primary focus of the Elementary Attendance Boundaries Committee is to ensure a balanced distribution of students, maximize facility utilization, and maintain educational parity across both campuses. The committee will analyze enrollment growth, natural geography, and transportation logistics to establish balanced, logical attendance zones for the district's expansion. Throughout this process, the committee’s focus will be on delivering high-quality, equivalent campus programs, considering student transitions through future growth, and maintaining open communication with the community. 

How to Participate

Navarro ISD encourages dedicated stakeholders who wish to serve on this committee to submit an application. Those wishing to serve on the committee must commit to attending all meetings in order to participate fully and make a solid recommendation to the school board.  Committee members will also be encouraged to participate in the presentation of the recommendation to the school board.
