GERONIMO, TX — During tonight’s Board of Trustees meeting, Navarro Independent School District proudly recognized a remarkable group of students, educators, and coaches for their exceptional performances and achievements across district programs, including cheerleading, FFA, shooting sports, and Advanced Placement (AP) academics.

Navarro Cheer Program Shines at UCA Summer Camp

Navarro ISD’s Junior High, Junior Varsity, and Varsity cheer squads represented the district with outstanding spirit at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Summer Cheer Camp, earning numerous team and individual accolades:

• Overall District Highlights: Navarro Cheer received the coveted Banana Spirit Award and was named Camp Overall Traditions Champions.

• Junior High Cheer: Earned a Superior Camp Routine evaluation, brought home the Spirit Stick, received red and blue ribbons, and was recognized as Most Improved. Co-Captain Khloe Kernan, Jayla Candela, Jordyn McCord, and Co-Captain McKayla Peterson were named UCA All-Americans. Khloe Kernan was also awarded the Pin It Forward Leadership Award.

• Junior Varsity Cheer: Placed 3rd in both the Small JV Cheer Championship and Small JV Gameday Championship. Captain Mia Daniel, Sophia Hardage, and Anabella Velasquez were named UCA All-Americans, with Mia Daniel also advancing as a Jump Off Semifinalist.

• Varsity Cheer: Placed 3rd in the Medium Varsity Dance and Pyramid Championship. Head Captain Madelyn St. John, Co-Captain Allyson Antista, Ainsley Pircher, and Mascot Jake Schnautz earned UCA All-American honors. Ainsley Pircher received the Pin It Forward Leadership Award, while Lyla Grace Henke and Rylee Thompson advanced as Jump Off Semifinalists. Mascot Jake Schnautz earned UCA All-American Mascot honors, Blue Ribbon Performances, Spirit Sticks every day, and the Overall Varsity Spirit Mascot Traditions Award.

• Coaching Staff: Head Varsity Coach Amy Dahlke, JV Coach Andrea Velasquez, and Junior High Coach EJ Adams were recognized for their leadership and guidance.

Navarro FFA and Shooting Sports Team Excel at State Level

Students in the Navarro FFA Program and Navarro FFA Shooting Sports Team demonstrated outstanding leadership, precision, and agricultural scholarship:

• Lone Star FFA Degrees: Seven students received the highest degree of membership bestowable by the Texas FFA Association: Jacob Braune, Abigail Burt, Rylee Flippin, Isabella Hartman, Hailee Munk, Shiloh Purdum, and Madelyn St. John.

• State & National Recognition:

  • Peyton Sisak was named an Agriscience Star Greenhand Award Top 4 State Finalist.

  • Avery Sisak (Class of 2026) was awarded the $10,000 Texas FFA Richard Wallrath Education Foundation Scholarship.

  • Justin Braune (Class of 2025) was named State Winner & Gold-Rated National Finalist in Vegetable Crop Production Proficiency as he continues his studies at Texas A&M University.

• Shooting Sports Team Results:

  • All-Female Team: 3rd Place Team in Sporting Clays and 4th Place in Super Sporting Clays (Hailee Munk, Rylee Flippin, Alyson Rauschuber, and McKayla Peterson).

  • All-Male Team: 2nd Place Team in Super Sporting Clays and 5th Place in Sporting Clays (Clayton Wilkins, Waylon Gloor, Grayson Karlik, and Daniel Rhinehart).

  • Mixed Team: 5th Place Team in Sporting Clays (Hailee Munk, Clayton Wilkins, Waylon Gloor, and Daniel Rhinehart).

• Coaches & Advisors: Special recognition was extended to Lead Coach John Wilkins and Assistant Coaches Josh Gloor, Andrew Munk, Ryan Rauschuber, Ryan Peterson, and Jarret Stadler.

Academic Excellence and AP Scholars Recognized

Navarro High School showcased impressive results across its Advanced Placement (AP) program:

• Pass Rate: Out of 110 testing students, 70 students (64%) achieved a passing score of 3 or higher on their AP exams.

• Top Performers (Score of 5):

  • AP English Language and Composition: Paige Lange and Sarah Mullan

  • AP Human Geography: Carter Alyea

  • AP Physics C: Mechanics: John Kehoe (2026 Valedictorian)
