Navarro Celebrates Five Students to Compete in Athletics and Fine Arts at the Collegiate Level

GERONIMO, TX — April 23, 2026 — Navarro High School proudly hosted its third and final signing ceremony on April 20 to celebrate five standout student-athletes as they officially committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. Representing basketball, dance, tennis, baseball, and volleyball, these students have demonstrated excellence both in their respective arenas and in the classroom.
Camden Shields – Basketball | LeTourneau University
The daughter of Jennifer Gray and Michael Shields, Camden Shields will be taking her talents to LeTourneau University. A standout on the Varsity Basketball court, Shields is also the National Honor Society Historian and a member of the Athletic Student Advisory Committee. Her accolades include being a 4x Academic All-District selection, 1st and 2nd Team All-District honors, and a spot on the San Antonio All-Star Team.
- Major: Biomedical Science (Path to Medical Dosimetry)
- Why LeTourneau: "The opportunity to play basketball while growing in my faith, as well as the family-like atmosphere."
Harlie Bode – Dance | Hardin-Simmons University
Harlie Bode, daughter of Michael Bode and Leah Giron, has committed to the Hardin-Simmons University Dance Team. A leader on the Dazzlers Dance Team for four years, serving as Captain and Lieutenant, Bode’s resume is packed with elite awards, including "Most Outstanding Trio" and multiple Platinum honors. She is a Student of the Year recipient and a member of the Superintendent Student Advisory.
- Major: Business Marketing (Minor in Coaching/Math Education)
- Why HSU: "The welcoming atmosphere and sense of community... the opportunity to be part of a team that competes at a high level and participates in national competitions."
Jacob Cooper – Tennis | Monmouth College
Jacob Cooper, son of Heather and Travis Cooper, is headed to Monmouth College to play Tennis. Cooper, a District Champion and Tennis Captain, was a First Team All-District selection in both singles and doubles. Beyond the court, he was active in the Psychology Club and served as a National Honor Society member and "Class Favorite."

- Why Monmouth: "Talking with the coach and him mentioning the potential he sees in me... while also being located near my original hometown."
Noah Rosas – Baseball | Nelson University
Noah Rosas, son of Cindy Polanco and James Rosas, has committed to play baseball at Nelson University. A four-year varsity baseball player and powerlifter, Rosas earned 1st Team DH and 2nd Team 1st Base honors during his career. He is a consistent Academic All-District performer and a member of the Panther Network crew.
- Major: Sports Management (Pursuing a Master’s in Business)
- Why Nelson: "Nelson is a Christian-based university... I was raised to put God first in everything I do. That same foundation and sense of faith is exactly what I felt at Nelson."
E’Mirrah Harris – Volleyball | Quincy University
E’Mirrah Harris, daughter of Whitne and Jason Batiste, will continue her volleyball career at Quincy University. A multi-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track, Harris earned Academic All-District honors in multiple sports and was named to the 2nd Team All-District for volleyball.
- Major: Biology (Pre-Radiology)
- Why Quincy: "The radiology program and the chance to meet new friends."
Navarro High School Athletics Director, Glenn Hill, and members of the coaching staff expressed their immense pride in these students, noting that their commitment to their sports, skills, their teams, and their academics serves as a model for all underclassmen. They have left a lasting legacy at Navarro, and we look forward to seeing them succeed on the national stage.
