State Accountability Ratings

On April 25, 2025 the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released Accountability Ratings for all school districts. It is important for our stakeholders to understand that these results are from the 2022-2023 school year and are now being released by the TEA following an overturned appeals court ruling on April 7, 2025.

As shared at the Board of Trustees meeting in September 2023, based on preliminary data and TEA’s new accountability system retroactively implemented that year, administration predicted the rating outcome for our district. The changes to the accountability system, including the new STAAR 2.0 online assessment, and drastic modifications to college, career, and military readiness scoring, were subjects of a statewide lawsuit joined by over 120 school districts that ultimately delayed the release of these ratings.

TEA School Reports Cards

A copy of the State of Texas School Report Card for all four campuses is available. This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The report provides information concerning student performance as well as information concerning expenditures, average class size, and student/teacher ratios.

TEA has developed the website TXschools.org to view online report cards designed to be useful tools in seeing how a school or school district is doing in different areas. Parents can search by district or school name. This webpage is dynamic and can be translated if needed. TEA also has webpages for Definitions and Explanations of Performance Ratings and Reports.

The report for our district and each school may or may not have all the information described, because the information presented depends on whether the school is an elementary, middle, or high school.

State law requires that the information be provided for the state, the district, and the school. Where possible, the information must be reported by race/ethnicity and socio-economic status of the students and must include at least two years of results.

If you have any questions about the information listed in the School Report Cards, please contact your campus principal or Wendy McMullen, Chief Academic Officer at 830-372-1930.
